Where Does The Pain Come From?
The facet joint is probably the most common source of lower back pain. It is a joint on either side of the vertebra that is surrounded by many nerve endings. Therefore, if it is malfunctioning or injured it can be a major source of pain. Other sources of pain are from the disc, tendon, ligaments, muscles and bony changes (i.e.. degenerative) related to the vertebra.
